ORCA Opportunity: High School
As we continue to learn more about the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the City of Seattle is taking steps to ensure that all Seattle residents are prepared and stay healthy. Following Governor Inslee’s emergency proclamation on March 12, all Seattle Public Schools will be closed through at least April 24. All school building activities including school day instruction, child care, preschool, athletics/sports, health services, enrichment, etc. are canceled until further notice. As a result, Seattle Public School cards will not be delivered to schools until Seattle Public Schools reopens. That means any middle school applications we received after March 9, 2020 and any new student ORCA cards (Middle School and High School) will not be delivered until Seattle Public Schools re-open. If you have any additional questions, please email ORCAOpportunity@seattle.gov or call/text 206-256-ORCA (6722). The ORCA Opportunity program distributes free, unlimited 12-month ORCA cards to high school students at Seattle Public Schools. Cards are valid on King County Metro, King County Water Taxi, Seattle Streetcar, Sound Transit, Community Transit, Pierce Transit, Kitsap Transit, Everett Transit, and Seattle Center Monorail.
